From the time I was born, my father has been coaching high school football. The game has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My journey has taken me from water boy to starting quarterback for the Eureka High School Loggers up in little Eureka, California, behind the great redwood curtain. It has been a blast.
Growing up, I had the great fortune of seeing what it takes to be a successful football player. I learned that hard work does pay off. Therefore, I embrace the idea being the hardest worker I can be, something that I always have control of. Not only have I worked my tail off to improve my skills and techniques as a quarterback, but I have also worked to develop my character and leadership skills as well. My teammates have elected me as a team captain the past two seasons. I am a servant leader for our football program. I have truly enjoyed working towards being the best student, football player, and person that I can be. I wake up each day excited about getting better.
Over my high school career, I have also put forth my best effort into my academic progress. I enjoy school and love my teachers. I have challenged myself academically throughout high school in several AP and Honors classes. I have worked hard to earn an overall GPA of 3.82. I know that I will go to college, and I will earn a degree. I am yet undecided on my exact academic focus in college. I guess I am waiting to find an area that I am passionate about before committing fully to that career pathway. I love the game of football and have the desire to continue playing at the collegiate level. I am not a guy that is hung up on the higher the level the better. I am looking to have a full and positive college experience regardless of whether the school is D1 or D3. I want the chance to develop as a football player and a person over the next four or five years of my life. I want an opportunity to live in a great place, play for and with great people, and be amongst others that are working towards the same goals as I have. I want to be around people that are serious about the process that leads to winning. I have been fortunate to play with a great group here in Eureka, and we have done a lot of winning since we were young kids. I am very clear as to the amount of work and sacrifice that it requires.
